Kellie Hill is joined by 13-year cancer survivor Karen Brooks from In-Home Wellness Solutions to explain how she used juicing as a supplement during her recovery. Identify which fruits and vegetables make great juices and which should be eaten whole rather than juiced. Karen explains if you need to purchase organic. Learn the “bases” for raw nutritional juicing as a start to make your own favorite drinks.
I’m so please to be partnering with Access this year on their “Go For Real Food / You Can Cook It” program. Every purchase you make from The Right Plan in 2014 will have a portion of the proceeds donated to this wonderful program. Please join me in supporting this very worthy cause!
Everyone, regardless of their income level, can enjoy learning how to cook whole foods and experience these benefits:
- Freshness & flavor
- Improved health
- Save $$
- Support our local food economy
- Creative expression
- Bring family & friends together
The Go For Real Food / You Can Cook It! Program is a local volunteer program in Jackson County, Oregon that addresses the need for cooking skills education by sending accomplished home cooks to present simple recipes in cooking demo’ fashion wherein fresh whole foods shine deliciously as the stars of the show. Sites include food pantries, grocery stores, grower’s markets, local businesses, senior centers, staff meetings, and community events.
If you would like to support the work of Volunteer Cooking Skills Educators in inspiring people to eat more fresh fruits, vegetables, whole, and local foods please consider donating here. Our wish list includes induction burners, good quality pots and pans, a blender, and a variety of cooking utensils needed for giving cooking demonstrations.
Click the “Make a difference” button in the right hand corner of the page; decide on the amount you want to give, and select “Cooking Skills” from the drop down menu.
