Beauty Really is in the Eye of the Beholder
But that doesn’t mean you are stuck!
When it comes to my style there’s a few questions that always come up:
- How do you find clothes with such style?
- Your beauty shines; how do you do it?
- Why don’t you take down those awful early photos?
That last one always cracks me up. I hear the same thing about my old videos too!
I’m revealing the truth today . . .
My Style, Clothes, and a Part of my Beauty come from a wonderful lady – Liana Chaouli.
That’s really my secret! I’ve never been a fashionista. I’d wear yoga pants and a t-shirt every day if I could (okay, so many days I still do). But what I’ve learned is how I show up in the world makes a huge difference. My knowledge may be top-notch but if people aren’t drawn to me I can never be of service.
Let’s take a look at an old picture, for comparison. Liana has helped me look at myself in a new light. Look at the difference! No I’m not super horrible looking here – I’m sure a quick scan could have found a terrible style picture of me (I was a kid in the 70’s & 80’s after all!). But I don’t want to show the extremes – I want you to see the truth.
Here’s what I learned with Liana’s help. My hair needed to be shorter so it framed my face. I need to wear bracelets and earrings but no necklaces. In the old picture your eyes are drawn to my necklace instead of my face. I should never wear black. The vibrancy of my clothes now brings out my inner light and shines it on people. Texture in fabrics is my friend because I’m a bit whimsical in nature. The fluff of my brown shawl draws people to me – I’m frequently petted when I wear it and I love that people will approach me and my clothes. The black leather jacket I was wearing isn’t as inviting.
There’s a ton more that Liana has taught me about my personal style and the clothes that look the best. I was so fortunate to meet her and have the opportunity to learn from her. It helped change my life!
Style Says ALOT even before I do!
That first picture was on a stage in Southern California. I heard again and again that after I was introduced and was walking up the aisle to the stage that I radiated confidence, beauty, and success. Many people came up and said I just wanted to meet you as soon as I saw you.
Which came first? Confidence and beauty or style and clothes? I don’t know . . . maybe they came together, thanks to Liana.
What Does Your Style Say?
Your clothes are speaking for you every day / but do you like what they’re saying?
Are they saying:
“I’m an authentic, beautiful person who knows exactly who I am and what I’m here to do. I deserve success and am here to make a difference!”?
Or maybe, that’s what you want the message to be when you meet someone.
