Soaked Grains

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole grain
  • 2 cups warm filtered water
  • 2 Tablespoons whey, live yogurt, kefir or buttermilk

Directions

  1. For those with severe milk allergies, lemon juice or vinegar may be substituted
  2. Directions
  3. Place all ingredients in pot.
  4. Cover and leave in a warm place for at least 7 hours and as long as 24 hours.
  5. Simmer until desired tenderness.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Serve with butter, cream, a natural sweetener (maple syrup, raw honey, date sugar), chopped nuts, dried coconut, etc.
