Enjoy Life and Food – Women’s Empowerment Series

Creating Transformation

Are You Ready to Enjoy Life and Food?

It’s not often one of my presentations is recorded – let alone shown on television . . . but this past June I presented “Are You Ready to Enjoy Life and Food?” to a paying audience in California.  The event was part of the Women’s Empowerment Series created by Rebecca Hall Gruyter.  Rebecca is a media icon – I’ve seen her live on stage, listened to her popular radio shows, and watched her television station (yes, I wrote station – not just a single show!).  She is helping to empower women; helping create transformation for women.  I was honored to be asked to participate.

Transformation

I know it seems like an odd time of year to give away the full presentation – and there’s no sales piece – just as you begin to look for transformation in your health.  In just a few weeks my phone will be ringing non-stop, emails will come flooding in and sales will jump.  Yes, the first of the year is the time when people start to think about their health, their weight, their activities and make their resolutions.

But, honestly, when Rebecca sent me the video, I realized it was another opportunity for me to follow her lead . . . to help empower people, to help create transformation, to help you enjoy life and food.

So, here it is – for free – no strings attached – enjoy

and make 2017 your best year ever!

Enjoy the video

If you want help to make 2017 your best year, just let me know.

Remember, everything you eat has a purpose and a plan . . . make it your purpose and The Right Plan.

Radio Interview for Success

Rebecca Hall Gruyter has been empowering women and transforming lives both in person, on the airwaves and now on television.  As the host she brings together the wisdom of multiple guests for ultimate success.

I was recently asked to participate in an interview on her radio show.  Combined with Scott Schmaren we were able to discuss success in life and health.

Different Interview

I know much of the time I’m the person interviewed aboutr heart disease.  It’s been excited to step out and talk about not just health but overall success.  Many people don’t realize that I’ve been my own boss since 1995.  I’ve had success in multiple fields . . . health being the latest success.

I was honored to be part of an interview that spoke about overall success in life.  Plus both of us gave an amazing free gift . . . which you can only receive by listening to the interview.  😉

Total Freedom Podcast: Success Stories

Success Stories

From McDonalds to Thriving Health Coach

It’s funny, I don’t think of myself as having success stories, but of course I do . . . everyone does.  Maybe it’s because I tend to focus on what still needs to be done, that I forget to celebrate the success stories.

Luckily, John Racine Jr. remembers to celebrate not only success stories but the freedom that comes from success with his Total Freedom Podcast.

My Freedom

I don’t hide my past, but I also don’t shine a spotlight on it either.  Yet, without talking about my past . . . in McDonalds and 7-Eleven it really is pretty hard to understand my idea of freedom now.  John brought it all out of me during this great interview.

It’s always nerve wracking to go back in time but, let’s face it, how else can we every go forward?  So here’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth . . . don’t judge me too harshly, please!

47% Nutrient Loss from Grocery Store Purchases – [VIDEO]

Farmers Market to the Rescue

When we talk about nutrition we are also talking about nutrient value.  Not to get to sciency but when we consider foods we have to consider the quantity and quality of the nutrients found in the food.  It’s actually much more than just calories, carbohydrates, protein and fats.  It’s also about vitamins, minerals and the phytochemicals in the foods.

The primary way people find the nutrient value is from the Nutrition Facts Label on a package.  The FDA has approved recent changes – find out more here.    Unfortunately this isn’t all the information you need to fully understand nutrition so there’s also the National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, which lists the nutrient information of more than 8,000 foods.

But, let’s be honest, how many people really go online to find out the nutrient value of the food they eat?  Heck, I don’t even do that and I study nutrition all the time!

Simple Solution – Farmers Market

One of the simplest solutions is to purchase from your local farmers market.  The further the distance a food must travel in order to get to your plate, the less nutrient value.  In fact, researchers at Penn State recently published a study in Journal of Food Science indicating that spinach lost 47% of it’s nutrient value within just two days of being refrigerated.

Now think about how long it takes to get that spinach to you!

The best nutrition comes from the food that travels the least distance in the shortest amount of time.  Obviously having your own garden is the best.  But, if you don’t have the space, time or energy . . . a farmers market is your next best.  Here you’ll find produce that was usually picked within less than 24 hours so it will have the highest nutrient value.

Here’s some tips to get the most out of your farmers market visit.

Find a local farmers market near you by searching localharvest.org.

Focus Leads to Greatness

Business Entrepreneurs Need Focus

Most people know me as the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner that founded The Right Plan and then went through 18 months of health hell . . . heart attacks, by-pass surgery, and a stroke.  Yes, I lived to tell the tale, coming back with a vengeance and a mission!

This is what people normally ask me to talk about when they request me as a guest on their podcast or television show.  In fact, it may be what defines me now . . . but it isn’t my only definition.

Those that really read my website know I started business career in non-profit, became the youngest female business franchisee in the 7-Eleven system (with 2 stores) and then started in the McDonald’s system spending 10 years as an owner/operator of 3 restaurants.  Then, I started The Right Plan.  I’ve been an entrepreneur in business for over 20 years!

So, it was refreshing to be asked to speak about my business experience and what has made me successful.

Given the Opportunity to Help Business Entrepreneur

Stephen Woessner records an amazing business podcast called Onward Nation.  Stephen’s digital marketing insights have been featured in Inc. Magazine, Forbes, Entrepreneur, and The Washington Post.

And I loved it when he reached out to ask me to talk about business and being an entrepreneur.

As I prepared for the interview I kept asking myself what has made my business successful.  It really was pretty simple – good business systems and focus.  We were able to really get in-depth during our Onward Nation interview and I’m excited to share a slightly different look into my life . . . or maybe it’s all the same . . . as a business survivor.
