How to Lose Weight
There have been some really interesting diet comments. Here’s a few emails I received from participants:
“I feel the best I possible can! You can’t help but lose weight. It keeps me on good habits. I just feel better!”
“I’ve always loved bread and sweets and chips. Over time I have fewer of those cravings. I just don’t seem to need them. They don’t even appeal to me much.”
I feel like I’m losing in a healthy way and I don’t fear gaining it back.”
I’m so honored and feel so grateful to be able to help busy moms learn how to lose weight without feeling deprived, without radical diet changes, without weight loss pills, without nasty tasting shakes, or expensive supplements. How to Lose Weight Video
So, some of you loved the video and others sent me notes saying “stick to writing” – ah, the love around me! But, I’m still trying it – never give up I say . . .
A lot of clients come to me after they’ve tried all the other quick fix programs and products. I’ve seen some horrible effects from these supplements. One lady’s metabolism was slowed down permanently because of a diet pill. Others have taken diet pills that ended up being recalled because of links to liver damage. For example, OxyElite Pro products were recalled after being linked to dozens of incidents of hepatitis and liver failure, plus one death, one liver transplant, and others awaiting liver transplants.
One client of mine is top of mind when it comes to weight loss supplements. She used the HcG diet drops. She started losing her hair. Her constipation was so bad that she was only having bowel movements a couple times a month. She was basically crippled by the intense pain from gallstones that had developed from using this supplement. Her doctor was recommending surgery to remove her gallbladder to try and reduce the awful pain. She had missed many of her daughter’s activities due to her pain and discomfort. She was so exhausted it was hard to even get out of bed. She was so depressed her doctor had put her on anti-depressants. She felt like a failure as a mother.
I hate to think about the thousands of dollars each month she spent using that supplement to try and lose weight, just to end up in pain, depressed, exhausted, frustrated, still overweight and then feeling like a failure as a mother. This should never happen to anyone.
Luckily we were able to reverse all the damage from the supplements and she didn’t have to have surgery. She took her kids to Disneyland this summer and told me she felt like a 17 year old running around from one end of the theme park to the other and riding all the rides. She experienced it all with her family / laughing and enjoying life, without a diet.
And, she was wearing shorts two sizes smaller than she’s ever worn before.
She is one “hot” momma now.
Weight Loss Tip
One of the strategies that I used to bring her back to health, find her perfect weight and get her into those shorts was to get her fully hydrated. Everything in your body works better when properly hydrated. Proteins and enzymes are more efficient, oxygen is delivered better to the cells, nutrients are properly transported, toxins, waste, and excess fat are more easily removed, the immune system is strengthened, as well as bones, joints, and organs are better cushioned. Water is the most important nutrient in the body, making up 55-60% of our total body mass. There have been direct links between many serious conditions and being in a continuous state of dehydration, including weight gain.
I know water doesn’t seem to be about how to lose weight, but drink the proper amount of water and you lose weight. Way better than taking any pill. To help you identify how much water YOU need to drink and how to easily test your hydration level, here is a video.

Diet Information Confusion
This same client sent me these two pictures just yesterday /
Part of her email said, “What the hell Kellie / when are people going to learn that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all diet? Can you believe this? Both were at my chiropractor’s office. The Vegetarian Times magazine is all about a using a plant based diet for weight loss and the First magazine is all about the Paleo diet using animal proteins for weight loss! Opposite extremes and both wrong. I left your cards there instead.”
Yep, this is the frustration for many busy moms / weight loss information overload and it’s confusing! We all know someone who was successful using one of these types of diets and we all know someone who the exact same diet didn’t work for. Because there is no one size fits all. The reality is that all these diets do work for someone and if you pick the right one you may find success too. But, you could spend years trying all your friends’ plans, or the latest magazine article, or the newest celebrity diet and you still may not find the right path for you. That’s because there is no one-size fits all diet. And most of these weight loss diets aren’t sustainable as a permanent lifestyle choice for busy moms.
According to the Centers for Disease Control at any moment 2/3 of all Americans start some kind of diet to lose weight. Unfortunately, 95% who lose weight will gain in back. So they jump on the next diet and start the cycle all over again. Or they decide to pay someone to help them create a personalized plan / they may hire a trainer, buy an expensive program, costly diet foods, and even supplements. In return they get a meal plan, maybe a grocery list, frequently very costly supplements, or boxed foods / all following the one size fits all diet concept. Which may or may not work . . . this is confusing, frustrating, expensive, and 95% end up right back where they started. This is not how to lose weight!
The solution is simple; learn how to lose weight by making your own healthy eating plan. Learn where your body derives its energy and how you store fat. Understand what your best food choices are (and they aren’t the same for everyone). Understand when to eat based on your personal goals and the metabolic rhythm of your body.
